Experiencias de empoderamiento en un grupo de mujeres en situaciones vulnerables: el caso de una casa de la mujer en Lima Metropolitana

Resumen
El objetivo de la presente investigación busca saber cómo se ha desarrollado el empoderamiento en un grupo de mujeres que han vivenciado situaciones adversas y que participan por varios años en una Casa de la Mujer, ubicada en Lima-Metropolitana. Por eso, se entrevistó a once mujeres voluntarias, que en su mayoría son de provincia, y que llegaron a Lima por diferentes motivos. La herramienta usada para el recojo de la información ha sido la entrevista semiestructurada, que permitió un diálogo profundo y directo. Los resultados obtenidos se analizaron por medio de tres categorías como el empoderamiento individual, relacional y colectivo. Estas categorías estuvieron compuestas por el trabajo remunerado y no remunerado, distribución de responsabilidades, manejo del tiempo libre, organización del tiempo, relación consigo misma, relación con la pareja e hijos, relación con el grupo y la participación social. Además, se recogió los conceptos sobre empoderamiento y/o mujer empoderada y la motivación que ellas tuvieron para entrar en esta casa de la mujer. Finalmente, se denota que la participación activa de las once mujeres generó cambios positivos en sus vidas, ya que aprendieron a valorarse y sentirse capaces de tomar decisiones para ellas, su familia y su comunidad.
The objective of this present investigation is to look for how empowerment is developed in a group of women who has lived adverse situation and participated for a few years in a House for Women, located in Lima-Metropolitan. So, eleven women volunteered to be interviewed, primarily they are from the provinces and landed in Lima for different motivations. The instrument used to collect the information has been the semi structured interview, which permitted a deep and direct dialogue. The results obtained were analyzed for three categories: individual empowerment, relational empowerment and the collective empowerment. These categories were composed by paid work and volunteer work. Also, the analysis looked at the distribution of responsibilities, the management of free time, the organization of free time, their relationship with themselves, their relationship with their partner and children, their relationship with the group and their social participation. Also, the concepts of empowerment and/or an empowered woman and the motivation that they had to enter into the House of Women. Finally, it is noted that the active participation of the eleven women generated positive changes in their lives, as they learned to value themselves and felt capable of making decisions for themselves, their family and their community.
