Aproximación a la noción peirceana de abducción

Abstract

El presente trabajo tiene como finalidad hacer una aproximación del concepto de abducción desde sus antecedentes en la obra aristotélica y su formulación en la obra de Charles Sanders Peirce. Procederemos con una aproximación histórica que nos remita a una teórica en la que podamos problematizar sus aspectos centrales. Por tal motivo, explicaremos algunas interpretaciones que sobre la abducción desde Peirce. Nos centraremos en exponer el razonamiento abductivo y sus diferencias con el deductivo e inductivo. Por último, haremos una asimilación de la inferencia abductiva con la “inferencia a la mejor explicación” de Harman para luego encontrar sus diferencias. En tal sentido, nuestra aproximación tendrá el objetivo de diferenciar estos tipos de razonamientos y referenciar la abducción en el lugar epistémico que le corresponde para futuras investigaciones.AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to make an approach to the concept of abduction from its antecedents in the Aristotelian work and its formulation in the work of Charles Sanders Peirce. We will proceed with a historical approach that refers us to a theoretical one in which we can problematize its central aspects. For this reason, we will explain some interpretation of abduction from Peirce. We will focus on abductive reasoning and its differences with deductive and inductive reasoning. Finally, we will assimilate abductive inference with Harman’s “inference to the best explanation” and then find their differences. In this sense, our approach will have the objective of differentiating these types of reasoning and referencing abduction in its epistemic place for future research.
