Vivencias subjetivas de las madres que tienen un hijo/a con discapacidad intelectual de Lima Metropolitana

Abstract

El presente estudio tuvo como objetivo describir las vivencias subjetivas de las madres que tienen hijos con Discapacidad Intelectual (DI) de Lima Metropolitana. Para ello, se realizó una investigación cualitativa de diseño fenomenológico, a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a 10 madres solteras y/o con pareja que tienen hijos con DI. Así mismo, se realizó un análisis de contenido temático a través del Software ATLAS.ti 9. En relación a los resultados, se identificaron tres dimensiones asociadas a la vivencia subjetiva de las madres que tienen hijos con DI, estas son: Cognitiva, Emocional y Social, a partir de las cuales se desagregan también sus respectivas temáticas. La tesis concluye que la vivencia subjetiva de la madre con un hijo con DI es una experiencia difícil y compleja, siendo así que las madres solteras que tienen un hijo con DI experimentan un índice mayor de sentimientos de tristeza, preocupación y frustración en comparación con otras madres que tienen pareja. Así también, algunas de las madres expresaron que en sus vidas cotidianas experimentaron críticas, burlas y comentarios por el hecho de tener a su niño con DI. En consecuencia, las madres se sienten emocionalmente aún más sensibles y frágiles.AbstractThe present study is to understand the subjective experiences of mothers who have a child with Intellectual Disability (ID) in Metropolitan Lima. For this, a qualitative research was carried of phenomenological design, through semi-structured interviews with 10 single mothers and/or with a partner who have a child with ID. Besides, a thematic content analysis was carried out through the ATLAS.ti 9 Software. In relation to the results, we indentify three dimensions associated with the subjective experience of mothers who have a child with ID, wich are: Cognitive, Emotional and Social, from which their respective themes are also disaggregated. The thesis suggest that the subjective experience of the mother who has a child with ID is a difficult and complex experience, being so that single mothers who have a child with ID experience a higher rate of feelings of sadness, worry and frustration compared to other mothers who have a partner. Additonaly, some af the mothers expressed that in their daily lives they experienced criticism and humiliation for having a child with ID. Consequently, mothers feel emotionally even more sensitive and fragile.
