La modelización matemática en la investigación en educación matemática : reflexiones y datos bibliométricos

Abstract

El presente artículo está estructurado en dos partes principales. En la primera, se hace una breve reflexión sobre el papel de la modelización matemática en el ámbito de la investigación en didáctica de la matemática. En ese sentido, se fundamenta la importancia de dicha teoría para los avances de la disciplina y, específicamente, para el trabajo de todo educador matemático. Por consiguiente, en la segunda parte se presenta una serie de datos bibliométricos sobre la presencia de la modelización matemática, los cuales fueron compilados luego de un análisis exhaustivo de cuatro fuentes primarias. Por último, tras someter a un análisis cualitativo dichas fuentes secundarias, se señalan ciertas tendencias dentro de la comunidad científica, considerando también las interpretaciones de dicha teoría según la zona geográfica.AbstractThis article is structured into two main parts. The first part offers a brief reflection on the role of mathematical modeling in the field of research on mathematics education. In this sense, the importance of this theory for the advancement of the discipline and, specifically, for the work of mathematics educators is highlighted. Consequently, the second part presents a series of bibliometric data on the presence of mathematical modeling, compiled after an exhaustive analysis of four primary sources. Finally, after subjecting these secondary sources to a qualitative analysis, certain trends within the scientific community are identified, also taking into account the interpretations of this theory by geographical region.
