The present study allowed us to know the perception of teleworking and mental health of a group of teleworkers of a public organization located in Metropolitan Lima. Qualitative approach and phenomenological design were used. Seven semi-structured interviews were conducted with a group of teleworker mothers between the ages of 27 and 45 who experienced the beginning of this emerging work modality during the time of confinement decreed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The presence of multiple paradoxes in their stories stands out, starting from the novelty of teleworking in the midst of a context of health and economic crisis, understood as taking care of themselves and burden at the same time. The results show that the work was permanent, without time for self-care, and the psychosocial vulnerability of mothers is worrying, due to factors such as the sexual division of labor, work overload and stress. Finally, the study sought to provide recommendations at various levels, considering that the origin of these vulnerabilities lies in the stereotypes and traditional gender roles frequently reproduced in society, assumed even by many women.
