Resumen
Esta es una tesis realizada en una escuela secundaria de la ciudad de Huancayo (Perú) cuyo objetivo es describir las principales manifestaciones de la cultura escolar a través del ejercicio de las competencias ciudadanas de tipo comunicativo y emocional. La información ha sido recogida a través de entrevistas y de talleres lúdicos —todo de forma virtual por el contexto de la pandemia— con la participación de directivos, profesores, padres de familia y estudiantes. A través del paradigma interpretativo se analizaron los datos ofrecidos por los participantes. Los resultados han arrojado una sólida cultura escolar caracterizada por la formación en valores, la familiaridad y el óptimo rendimiento académico. Junto a esta destaca una cultura del poder que fomenta los gestos de consideración hacia la autoridad y que se manifiesta en el temor de docentes y padres de familia a disentir, por lo que prefieren la murmuración o la pasividad. Con respecto a las competencias ciudadanas, los directivos y docentes ejercitan bastante la escucha y la empatía. Quienes más desarrollan la asertividad y la argumentación son las estudiantes.
This is a thesis was realized a High school in the Huancayo city (Peru), whose objective is describe the main manifestations of school culture through the exercise of communicative and emotional citizenship skills. The information has been collected through interviews and playful workshops —all virtually due to the context of the pandemic— with the participation of managers, teachers, parents and students. Through the interpretive paradigm, the data provided by the participants were analyzed. The results have yielded a solid school culture characterized by training in values, familiarity and optimal academic performance. Along with this stands out a culture of power that encourages gestures of consideration towards authority and that is manifested in the fear of teachers and parents to disagree and who prefer gossip or passivity. With regard to citizenship skills, it is completely ignored that the communicative and emotional dimension are part of them; although several of the school's actors exercise listening and empathy. Those who most develop their right to defend their ideas and express their feelings are the students.
