Ítem Acceso Abierto Estudio de pre-factibilidad para una planta de tableros aglomerados a base de cascarilla de arroz, Arequipa, 2021(Universidad Antonio Ruiz de Montoya, 2022) Mamani Hancco, Sergio Mysael; Volz Oporto, Paul Sebastian; Cano Lazarte, Mercedes ElenaThe present study entitled: "Pre-feasibility study for a rice husk-based chipboard plant, Arequipa, 2021" focuses on two aspects: the development of an innovative and profitable project, and the reduction of environmental pollution. The methodology followed by the study is descriptive with a mixed analysis, and a pre-experimental design. To obtain data, a survey was applied to 113 carpentry business owners in Arequipa, and to complement the study, an interview with three end customers. A very dynamic demand for chipboard was identified with upward projections, so that by 2022 the estimated demand is 14,632.75 m3. Currently, there is no supply of rice husk-based boards; however, 101 companies were identified that are dedicated to the production of conventional board and the production of sawn wood, with a participation of 73.6% by large companies, mostly foreign. Based on the surveys, the potential of the product was determined with an acceptance of 42%. While the interviews reflected the interest of final consumers for furniture made from rice husk boards. For the implementation of the plant, an area of 2,230 m2 is required, which has a production capacity of more than 307 thousand boards per year. The economic and financial study evidenced the feasibility, with an initial investment of 6,406,455.20 soles, likewise the indicators are positive, supporting the feasibility, the NPV of S/4,494,734.70, the IRR of 33%, and a cost benefit of 1.52.
