The objective of this research is to determine the impact of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) on academic and administrative processes in a private higher education institution, serving as a tool that provides efficient, structured, validated, and secure information. This will allow the institution to have the solid foundations necessary for planning as a management tool, thereby offering quality service to the community, aiming to remain competitive in the national and international higher education market through institutional self-sustainability. Throughout the study, the particular meaning of the term "quality" for an educational institution is defined, distinguishing it from commercial environments. Additionally, the need for quality to be present transversally throughout the institution is established. The reasons and needs for ICT implementation are presented, as well as the identification of feasibility factors for these technologies to become tools for improving the quality of educational services, positioning the institution as a quality benchmark. As a final result, it was identified that the impact of ICT is closely linked to the interaction —positive and/or negative— among key factors, such as the people involved in the institution and their attitude toward the changes implied by ICT adoption. This attitude, observed from different perspectives, will ultimately determine the benefit or drawback of ICT application in the institution. In cases where the attitude was positive toward this change, positive results were reflected in institutional quality service.
