Uso de novelas juveniles y el interés por la lectura en estudiantes de 4.o grado del Colegio Mayor Secundario Presidente del Perú – COAR Lima

Resumen
Esta investigación tuvo como objetivo general analizar el uso de novelas juveniles y el interés por la lectura en estudiantes de 4.o grado de secundaria del Colegio Mayor Secundario Presidente del Perú – COAR Lima.
El estudio fue de tipo mixto, integró dos enfoques: cualitativo y cuantitativo y diseño correlacional. La población estuvo conformada por 278 estudiantes y 4 docentes, con una muestra de 100 estudiantes y 4 docentes del curso de Literatura de 4.o grado de secundaria. Para la recolección de información se emplearon encuestas y entrevistas, instrumentos que fueron previamente validadas por un juicio de expertos.
El estudio arrojó que el 71 % de estudiantes lee obras literarias juveniles, un 44 % tiene buena actitud hacia la lectura de novelas juveniles, un 71 % lee de forma autónoma y el 81% termina la lectura cuando es de temática juvenil.
La prueba de hipótesis general demostró que hay una relación significativa entre la lectura de novelas juveniles y el interés por la lectura en los estudiantes encuestados. En conclusión, los estudiantes se sienten motivados a leer obras de diversos géneros literarios a partir de la lectura de novelas juveniles.
The main aim of this study was to analyze the use of juvenile novels and the reading interests in 4th grade in high school students of the Colegio Mayor Secundario Presidente del Perú - COAR Lima. The study was mixed type which integrated two approaches: qualitative, quantitative and correlational design. The target population consisted of 278 students and 4 teachers by taking a sample of 100 students and 4 teachers from the 4th grade Literature course. To gathering information, there were taken surveys and interviews, instruments that were previously validated by expert judgment. The study showed that 71% of students read juvenile literary works, 44% have a good attitude towards reading juvenile novels, 71% read autonomously and 81% finish reading when it is a juvenile theme. The general hypothesis test demonstrated that there is a significant relationship between the reading of juvenile novels and the interest in reading in the surveyed students. In conclusion, students feel motivated to read works of various literary genres from the reading of juvenile novels.
