The subject of this investigation is the unfolding of the concept of the Sublime between the Observations on the Feeling of the Beautiful and Sublime and the Critique of Judgement of Immanuel Kant. To asses this, we are going to start dealing with the context of Kant reflections on the matter, focusing in authors like Longinus, Joseph Addison and Edmund Burke. Then, we are going to analize the Observations, and finally, the Analitic of the Sublime in the third crític. This work intends to search for a continuity between the concept of the sublime developed in the Observations and the one developed in the Analitic of the Sublime, even with the latter having a trascedental explanation of the sublime. Our main goal is to allow new investigations to understand better the concept of the sublime in the aesthetic theory of Kant, and we are going to do this by following how this concept developed in Kant thought.
