The general objective of this research was to learn about the experiences of romantic love through social networks in the relationships of young university students in the city of Metropolitan Lima. For this purpose, the qualitative approach and the phenomenological design were used. Eleven Semi-structured interviews were conducted with young university women and men between 18 and 25 years of age who had been in a heterosexual couple relationship for at least six months, used at least one social network in their couple of dynamics and lived in Lima. In relation to the most relevant results, it stands out that the interviewees reproduce certain myths of romantic love in their daily interaction with their partner in the face-to-face sphere, and in the virtual sphere through the use of social networks, thus generating new expectations of what it would imply to be in a couple relationship today, causing diverse emotions and meanings when they do not meet expectations. However, it is visualized that this reproduction of romantic love myths becomes and object of questioning and reflection when the person becomes aware of behaviors that are detrimental to the relationship.
