Resumen
El objetivo principal de la presente investigación es determinar la relación entre el
constructo de inteligencia emocional y el rendimiento académico en estudiantes de
tercer año de secundaria de una institución educativa de Fe y Alegría en San Juan de
Lurigancho.
La investigación es de tipo cuantitativa con un diseño no experimental
transeccional correlacional. Se aplicó el inventario adaptado a la realidad de Lima
Metropolitana de Bar-On ICE:NA a una muestra de 126 estudiantes entre hombres y
mujeres. Los resultados del test y las calificaciones anuales obtenidas a través de los
registros oficiales del SIAGIE (Sistema de Información de Apoyo a la Gestión de la
Institución Educativa) se correlacionaron a través del programa SPSS 24.
Los resultados obtenidos afirmaron la hipótesis principal arrojando un rho de
Spearman de 0,767 siendo una significancia alta. También se probaron las hipótesis
específicas demostrando que la relación entre la inteligencia emocional y el rendimiento
académico es significativa.
The main objective of this research is to determine the relationship between the construct of emotional intelligence and academic performance in junior high school students of an educational institution of Fe y Alegría in San Juan de Lurigancho. The research is quantitative with a non-experimental correlational transectional design. The inventory adapted to the reality of Lima Metropolitan of Bar-On ICE: NA was applied to a sample of 126 students between men and women. The results of the test and the annual grades obtained through the official records of the SIAGIE (Information System of Support to the Management of the Educational Institution) were correlated through the SPSS 24 program. The obtained results affirmed the main hypothesis yielding a Spearman rho of 0.767 being a high significance. Specific hypotheses were also tested by demonstrating that the relationship between emotional intelligence and academic performance is significant.
